I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Yoga Teacher with thirty years of clinical experience, leadership, and collaboration; my path has led me to a healing practice with folks living with trauma and life stressors.

I feel fortunate to have been able to focus my internships during my studies with Simmons University of Social Work Online on my passion: learning how the body holds and heals from trauma. Upon graduation with my Master of Social Work and licensure in 2019, I have continued my therapeutic journey by developing skills in EMDR, IFS, and Somatic body/mind integration therapies.

Prior to my work in State College, I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 1993 and then provided in-home supports to children, teens, and families in crisis, coordinating direct services to them and helping to navigate the funding and mental health systems.

This led me to recognize how challenging clinical work can be for professionals and to develop a plan to improve employee morale. I then provided contracted individualized services to folks most in need, who turned out to be people with cognitive or developmentally different abilities and mental illness.

I realized at this time that I needed more concrete self-care and bolstered my personal efforts.

My mindfulness practices of meditation and yoga became a more grounded part of my life experience as I realized how necessary the mind-body experience is for overall wellness.

In 2017, I became a Registered Yoga Teacher and served an internship with a mindfulness practice in 2018.

I recently expanded this understanding with Somatic work, becoming a Certificated Integrative Trauma Practitioner using various body-mind interventions in the healing process.

My clinical intention is to create a safe space for folks experiencing struggles in life, and I actively welcome people to explore the various aspects of who they are, including gender, sexuality, neurodivergence, and different abilities.

Interventions are designed with each individual to holistically support the body/mind system with evidence-based models and integration of movement and meditation, as appropriate.

I view a person as a whole system with many parts that flow more smoothly when we find ways to create compassionate connections.
